Bookstore Purchase Orders
Organizations, libraries, schools, and other educational groups, which have established ALA Store accounts, can utilize purchase orders at the AASL25 Bookstore and be billed following the AASL National Conference. This program can allow districts, schools, and librarians an opportunity to access member pricing, avoid shipping fees, and use professional development funds to support purchases of AASL books and products.
Submit your order in advance of the conference and pick up your materials on-site. Please review the process steps below. Still have questions? Contact aasl@ala.org.
Submitting Your Order to AASL/ALA
Please use the AASL25 Bookstore Purchase Order Confirmation form to plan and place your order and to help secure approval from your institution or organization to use a PO for conference bookstore materials.
Please submit your order to aasl@ala.org by Monday, August 18, including:
- your signed purchase order;
- the order confirmation form; and
- sales tax exemption and W-9 documentation, as needed.
AASL will review and submit all materials to the ALA Store as the conference bookstore vendor. POs received at AASL by the specified date in advance of the conference will have materials held at the store for pick-up.
POs will also be accepted on-site; however, stock cannot be guaranteed. Attendees planning to bring a purchase order to the conference should first visit the Special Assistance desk at Registration.
Pick-Up Orders at Bookstore
Orders will be reserved in the conference bookstore for customer pick-up until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17. After this time, books and products will be reshelved for sale. Please bring a copy of the purchase order and confirmation form with you to verify your order at pick-up.
Customer orders claimed after the designated time will depend on the remaining inventory. Customers with unfulfilled orders will have 30 days after the conference to place their order online through the ALA Store using their PO and a coupon code to offset shipping fees. The conference bookstore cannot offer shipping from the conference.
Billing
Following the AASL National Conference, the Chicago Distribution Center (CDC)—the vendor for the ALA Store—will issue invoices for AASL25 Bookstore purchase orders to customers with organizational accounts.
Organizational Accounts
If your organization does not have an open business account with ALA, you will need to supply additional business forms to the Chicago Distribution Center (CDC) to set up your account with the ALA Store. If you have questions or to verify your account status, please email acctrec@press.uchicago.edu. For any customer service issues with your order, upon receipt of your order, please call 800-621-2736 or email custserv@press.uchicago.edu.
Tax-Exempt Status
If you are exempt from state sales tax, please be sure that your organizational account is currently set up as tax-exempt. The ALA Store vendor will need current documentation. For more information and to verify your account status, visit https://alastore.ala.org/shipping-tax-information.
