Dinner with a Local Librarian

Wednesday, October 15 | 6:00 p.m.

What better way to experience what St. Louis has to offer than with those in the know – the locals! This evening event gives attendees the chance to have dinner with school librarians at restaurants handpicked to show off the city’s gastronomic delights. Eat, laugh, and learn about the conference host city during this informal, preconference event. A list of available restaurants and sign-up sheets will be available at registration Wednesday morning and space is limited.

Welcome Home: AASL Welcoming Session

Thursday, October 16 | 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Whether it is your first national conference or your tenth, AASL feels like home. Every AASL National Conference has friends and colleagues with like-minded interests, but each one has something new for even the veterans. New sessions and presenters, new events, new city, and most importantly, new attendees!

 

Come one, come all! Discover, explore, and plan for the best conference you will ever attend. Make connections and meet new colleagues eager to join your PLN. This is a fun and interactive event where attendees will meet other school librarians, learn about the conference, and leave prepared to get the most out of three packed days.

Graphic Novels: Gateway to Literacy & Imagination

Join the Missouri Association of School Librarians (MASL) for an engaging evening dedicated to the power of graphic novels in education! Discover how these dynamic texts can spark reading enthusiasm, support diverse learners, and complement your school's curriculum. A variety of graphic novel authors and illustrators have been invited to join us for this special ticketed event.

Spy Party

Thursday, October 16 | 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Spy party hosted by James Ponti and friends. The party will have trivia games, dessert, giveaways, a host of authors, photo props, sneak peeks at upcoming books, and more. 

 

 

ISS Networking Reception

Thursday, October 16 | 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

The AASL Independent Schools Section will host a networking reception at 8:00 p.m. Independent school librarians and their guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments, a cash bar and the ability to network with their peers in a casual, intimate setting. To attend this event, an additional registration fee of $40 and pre-registration is required. To add to your registration: In your AASL National Conference Confirmation email you will find a "CLICK HERE" link under the "Registration Online Access" section. This link will take you to your online dashboard.

Join your fellow attendees for a viewing of the new feature documentary from Academy Award nominee and Peabody winner Kim A. Snyder. The Librarians is a rallying cry for freedom to read. As book banning sweeps across the U.S. at an unprecedented rate, brave librarians emerge as first responders in the fight for democracy and our First Amendment Rights.

 

The Librarians Screening is sponsored by Rosen Publishing, an independent publishing house. Established in 1950 as a family business, Rosen has served educators and students Pre-K-12 with high-interest educational materials for decades.
