Presenter
Danielle Melilli
Danielle Melilli has been working in independent school libraries since 2006, beginning her career in Southern California. In 2021, she moved to Seattle, WA to join the Hamlin Robinson School faculty in their mission to "ignite the academic and creative potential of students with dyslexia."
Description: We all know the importance of school libraries and the benefits children receive from having access to high quality reading material and information. But what about the students for whom books and other forms of written language is a daily struggle? The library is an essential resource for these students and their families. Librarians from Hamlin Robinson School in Seattle, WA (where our mission is to ignite the “academic and creative potential of students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences…”) share how school libraries can best support students who may feel lost in a sea of words and print and empower their school community to support the success of all students.
