Title: School Librarian
Program Description
From the co-authors of the AASL Standards–Based Learning Series book of the same title comes a session supporting school librarians at all levels of manga experience and instructional focus! We will help school librarians build more substantial manga collections, create learner-centered programming and lessons, and incorporate manga into collaborative teaching. With a focus on student-centered librarianship through a manga lens, we will help you build your best program and collection.
This session will be a teaser of the book's content, divided into sections on how manga instruction aligns with the AASL standards, collection development, organization, readers' advisory, manga and community building, and manga and instruction. It is a tight, information-packed session to equip school librarians with the initial tools to build a manga program. It will also serve as a taste of our professional book so that librarians may better assess the value of owning our title.
Program Outline
-How Manga Instruction Aligns with the AASL Standards
